Things that made me smile this morning:

One. Waking up with the knowledge that my beloved is here with me for another week, instead of 300km away like he usually is on Mondays.

Two. Diving into my pool and swimming a dozen laps of butterfly (it is not a big pool). At the start of the summer I could manage about 5.

I'm having a busy week (who am I kidding? Every week is a busy week) but just wanted to share a couple of exciting happenings.

Firstly, on Sunday the new-look Aussiereviews went live. I've been running the site for over ten years, focusing on reviewing Australian books, and the site was well overdue  for an overhaul. For a brief moment today I was warm. the sun peeked out for a few glorious hours and I took myself off for a walk to, and along, the beach. The temperature here in Southwest WA has struggled to top 10 degrees  Celcius the past few days, so I must confess to a little envy of today's  guest, with her balmy 19 degrees! I’d had books published, and was proud of that, but I had a very long spell of rejections, while the publisher of my first trade title went out of business, and the books I had had published didn’t seem to be selling.
